Ancillary Services

  • Dental - Insurance coverage to help prevent major oral health problems and expenses. Dental plans range from traditional indemnity programs that cover a broad spectrum of services to more limited plans focused on preventive services.
  • Vision - Plans that cover annual eye examinations and eyeglasses.

  • Group Life Insurance - This coverage provides money to beneficiaries if the insured individual dies during a defined time period. As with other types of group benefits, group term life is generally less expensive than comparable individual policy coverage. For this reason, group term life insurance is often a key component in employee benefit packages.

  • Long Term Disability (LTD) - Long-term disability insurance replaces a percentage of the insured's income in case of a disability occurring off the job that lasts for an extended period of time. This policy generally has a waiting period before payment commences and then it covers the insured for a specified time period.

  • Short Term Disability (STD) - Short term disability insurance pays a percentage of an employee’s salary for a specified period of time if the employee is ill or injured (off the job) and cannot perform the duties of his or her job. Coverage usually starts one to fourteen days after the onset of disability. Generally. Short Term Disability Insurance covers the employee until Long Term Disability Insurance commences.

  • State Mandated Short Term Disability (NY DBL) - A program designed to provide employees with some level of income replacement in case of disability occurring off-the-job.

  • Enhanced State Disability - Benefits that extend beyond the statutory DBL coverage known as "enhanced" or "enriched" DBL. This extended coverage usually takes the form of a higher maximum benefit, but can also include shorter waiting periods or a longer maximum duration. Carriers take these factors into account when underwriting DBL coverage, and so enriched DBL is often more costly than statutory DBL coverage.

  • Long Term Care Insurance (LTC) - Insurance that covers services needed by those with chronic illness or disability. LTC helps pay for the care you need when you can no longer care for yourself.
