United eServices Implements Several Changes to Support Health Care Reform

Effective September 23, United eServices® will implement several changes to the quoting process to support Health Care Reform requirements for 2014. Below is a summary of the changes and their impacts to users.

Dependent Age and Medicare Status field Now Available for online quoting
United eServices will allow you to enter dependent age and Medicare status on all eligible dependents. These new fields will appear on the Quote Setup Page and on the Import Census template. If you use the import census feature, please note that you will need to download the new template format.

Changes to Dental Quoting
Users will not be able to run a dental quote for groups 51-100. The user will receive an error/informational message redirecting them to call their sales representative for dental quoting.

Vision Quoting Now Required
Users will now be required to quote vision whenever they are running a medical new business quote. Preferred vision plans will now be preselected and users will not be able to deselect the plans when running a quote.

Average Total Number of Employees (ATNE)/Full Time Equivalents Data Fields
The ATNE data field label on the Quote Setup Page and Census Page has been modified to also accommodate those states that are utilizing Full Time Equivalents.

Age Bands Added to Proposal Output and Plan Comparison Pages
Age banded rates in support of Adjusted Community Rating will now be reflected on the new business Medical Plan Comparison page, new business and ARQ proposal output rate pages and the Renewal Web Tools Medical plan Comparison output documents. The format will include an age band for <21, single bands for 21 – 63, an age band for 64+ and three additional bands for 1 Child <21, 2 Children <21, 3+ Children <21.
